Welcome to Postcards of Place

Postcards of Place is a venue where folks can share what particular places mean to them through postcards.

You are invited to mail in a postcard that depicts a place and, on the back side of the postcard, explain what the place means to you. Is it your childhood hometown, or your new neighborhood? A place that you love, or a place that you hate? A favorite vacation spot? A bustling city or a tranquil forest?

This venue uses the internet as a means to amplify the voice of a postcard and its representation of the places you share. It relies on, but also transcends, geography. It is a community for sharing.

Send Postcards

To have a postcard of your place(s) appear on this blog, the postcard must:

1) Depict a place on Earth, either through a picture or other representation (painting, state flag, etc.) (homemade postcards are great too!)

2)Include a story, anecdote, or some explanation/statement about what that place means to you or has meant to someone.

3)Be postmarked and sent through the actual, physical mail.

4) Sent in to Postcards of Place so that it can be scanned and posted on the blog. You can mail it directly to Postcards of place, or if it has already been mailed, you can put it in an envelope and send it. Either way,the address is -

*Both sides of postcards will be scanned and posted. Postcards will become the property of Postcards of Place, and will not be returned to the sender. They will be stored and protected. Someday, postcards may be collected and published in a book.
